Mamsell (from the French Mademoiselle) was a historical Swedish honorific used for unmarried women from about the mid 18th-century until 1866. The title was primarily used for middle class women and women in the cities.
It's like damsel in distress, but more a of a magnificent makeup wielding magical kind of lady.
Single lady. We've heard the song, danced around in our underwear to it (don't lie!), sassed many a man with it, and yes, my high school MALE wrestling team, used to do the dance...but, I've been thinking about it in much broader terms lately. If you're single by social standards you are lacking a BAE, but being single could be so much more empowering. To me, being single, means being empowered, being independent, being a confident lady, regardless of my BAE status.
And ya know what, if you like it, you should put a ring on it! Put a ring on your talents, a ring on your weirdisms, a ring on your lady friends, male friends, all of it. In these scary times...let people know you love them, don't wait, don't be afraid to say, "I love you". Sure, they might not say it back, it might be "too soon" but maybe just maybe, love is all we really need. LOVE every day!
